TROMP Tip... Jan Pustjens Focus Day

Sunday 28 January the third edition of the Jan Pustjens Focus Day will take place at the Amsterdam Conservatory. In memory of the Nieuwe Slagwerkgroep Amsterdam (New Percussion Group Amsterdam) which was founded in 1980 by Jan Pustjens, the programme focusses on ensembles this edition.

Special guest is Zoltán Rácz (Hungary), the leader of Amadinda for more than thirty years, one of the most respected percussion ensembles in the world.

Master classes will take place from 09:30 - 17:00, the presentation concert starts from 19:30. The concert features a world premiere of Iron Velvet by Arnold Marinissen, commisioned by the JPFoundation and performances of compositions by George Hamilton Green, Steve Reich, Edgard Varèse and Iannis Xenakis.
