Dr. Ir. Theo Tromp founded the Tromp Biennial in Eindhoven in 1970. His intention was to provide new opportunities and stage for young percussionist from around the world. Over fifty years later, the TROMP International Percussion Competition has become a leading competition for percussionist in the world. Investing in the future careers of the winners, TROMP provides various concert engagements in internationally acclaimed concert halls and festivals, both solo and with prestigious international ensembles.
TROMP Repertoire Days offers the possibility to percussionist students to attend master classes led by jury members and laureates in various locations throughout the world.
Participants in the Repertoire Days get a chance to study the competition’s (TROMP International Percussion Competition) repertoire together, as well as other solo repertoire. Editions have been held in the USA, China, Russia, Brazil, Japan, the United Kingdom and The Netherlands.
