Arnold Marinissen announces the TROMP 2022 Semi Finalists

On Monday November 14 2022 the TROMP International Percussion Competition jury announced the selected participants for the semi finals: Dániel Bolba, Xiaohui Chen, Grzegorz Chwaliński, Aaron Grünwald, SeongYeon Kong, Gabriel Michaud, Cheuk Hin Keith Ng and Michael Yeung. Wednesday November 16 and Thursday November 17, the participants perform a solo recital with the new compulsory work Continuum by Petra Strahovnik. Schedules and programmes will be published at tromppercussion.nl.

Since last Friday, 26 of the most talented percussionists from all over the world have been competing to gain a spot in the semi finals. The international jury of the first two rounds includes Emil Kuyumcuyan (Turkiye), Arnold Marinissen (The Netherlands), Bart Quartier (Belgium), Zhou Xiong (China), Yi-Ping Yang (Taiwan). On November 20, three finalists will perform Trevor Grahl’s new commissioned composition Folly with ASKO|Schönberg conducted by Clark Rundell. Besides awarding prizes, TROMP offers its laureates various concert engagements.
