Marijn ten Harmsen van der Beek is stepping down as chairman of the Tromp Music Biennale Foundation

The TROMP team and cooperation partner Muziekgebouw Eindhoven are very grateful to Marijn for his dedication, enthusiasm and the important results!

Marijn ten Harmsen van der Beek became a board member of the Tromp Music Biennale Foundation in 2011 and took over the gavel from Maarten Pieterson in 2014.

During Marijn's term of office, TROMP underwent a development in which expansion, broadening and renewal were central. The audience reach of the percussion festival increased and the international importance of the competition was expanded. For many top talents, TROMP has become an essential link between the conservatories and the ultimately aspired profitable professional practice. A springboard with global reach!

In the words of Marijn: “When I step down as chairman of the board, I’m proud to look back at our achievements over the past 50 years. Despite the global Covid crisis during the anniversary edition last November 2020 , TROMP managed to a festival that is unparalleled, partly through the use of modern techniques. Top international percussion talents were once again given the opportunity to train, show and further develop their skills. We could continue to work on our mission to propel the field, share knowledge, innovate and expand the repertoire. ”

TROMP is at a point from which the renewal, expansion and broadening for both the participants and the public can be continued.
