TROMP @ Amsterdam Marimba Weekend

The 2018 edition of the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend pays special attention to the TROMP International Percussion Competition. The program features a master class by Alexandre Esperet, winner of TROMP 2012 competition, in collaboration with TROMP.

March 8-11, Tatiana Koleva and Henny van den Abbeelen from Pustjens Percussion Products (PPP-Amsterdam) host the third edition of the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend with master classes, clinics, open rehearsals, workshops and concerts. Tatiana Koleva is an expert in solo marimba repertoire and commissioned some of the works by composers from the Netherlands in the TROMP competition’s 2nd Round.

The 2018 edition of the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend pays special attention to the TROMP International Percussion Competition, prior to the application deadline of 1 May. The program features a master class by Alexandre Esperet, winner of the TROMP 2012 competition, in collaboration with TROMP. The AMW issued a special invitation to participant Shingo Takase for the best performance of solo marimba repertoire in the 2ndRound of the TROMP 2016 competition. He will be performing in the concert of Saturday evening. Other performers and educators at the AMW include Leigh Howard Stevens, Daniele Di Gregorio, Marco Pacassoni and Mamadou Diabate.
